Kilkenny Santa Run started in 2011. It is held in Kilkenny Castle Park each year and everyone come dresses as Santa Clause. We have raised over €20,000 for local and national charities. We have two routes this year 2km and 5km. All the family welcome to walk, skip or run including your dogs.

OUR STORY
Kilkenny Charity Santa Run started back in 2011 when one of my running friends Aidan Quigley told me he had boxes of Santa suits from an event he was suppose to run. He asked me did I want them? So as you can guess what I said.............. yes.
With a bit of planning and help from my friends and family. The Kilkenny Santa Run was born. The first event was so magical, everyone starting together in a sea of red Santa’s running down the canal. People stopping, cars beeping, Christmas songs being sang (very badly as you can imagine, running and singing don’t go together!) running with my friends and everyone smiling but what really made it for me was when we were coming into the finish and a young girl turned and saw all these Santa’s run passed her. She nearly started hyperventilating with excitement. It really touched my heart. That moment made me think if seeing Santa’s can make one small child so happy we will have to run it again next year and try do the same to much, much more.
The Kilkenny Santa Run could not be possible with out my friends, family and also local businesses who give so generously. Without all of you, none of this would be possible. Every year the Santa Run is ran for charity. In the last 8 years we have raised over €20,000 for different Irish charities. So a big path on the back to all of you. This year all funds raised are going to St. Vincent de Paul, Kilkenny.
